Offline advertising is a form of advertising that doesn’t use digital channels, but we see it every day in our physical environment, such as billboards, television commercials, magazines, radio spots… These formats are becoming more and more common, so that online shops of all sizes advertise their services on television or in the written press. With them, we monetize our ecommerce, which will improve its traffic and conversion rate, reaching audiences that are not present in the virtual world.
Offline advertising has great advantages and there are several formats in which we can use it, such as:
– Billboard rental. With this method we’ll reach a greater number of users who are reluctant to use social networks but they see the billboards every day when they go to their jobs or move in public transport.
-Television advertising and radio spots. There is another large target that is not present on social networks or less influenced by them, but is a target audience for radio or television channels.
–Advertisements in magazines and newspapers that also reach another specific segment of the population that is not so assiduous to the web universe.
-Distribution of flyers. These are leaflets that we can hand out in different places with high traffic, catalogues that we send to people’s mailboxes, that we give out at fairs and congresses that we attend, as well as posters in bus shelters or interactive screens in the main streets of the cities.
-Another direct and often effective method is prospecting by telephone. It’s not maybe the best one, as a little intrusive, but it might be worth a try in some sectors.
Apart from traditional methods, there are more and more strategies that are integrated into different platforms, such as multi-screen strategies, due to the fact that a high percentage of Internet users, (the 77%, to be exact) watch TV, read magazines or listen to music while using the smartphone to interact or get information about the contents of these media. So we can:
- Create radio or TV ads that allow interaction with mobile devices.
- Make short videos that last about 5 or 10 seconds and that we can share on social networks.
- Connect online and offline formats, for example mobile devices with live events on television, such as the streaming broadcast of the Red Bull snowboarding event broadcast on NBC.
- Create food trucks to promote restaurant businesses and integrate them into social media as well.
Thus, the most effective and direct way to reach users is to carry out combined offline and online advertising campaigns, so that the percentage of the public that knows our ecommerce is much higher, thus achieving a stable, regular and growing flow to our online store.
